Dia de Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a Mexican holiday that celebrates and honors deceased loved ones. It is a joyful occasion, and one of the best ways to celebrate is by gathering with friends and family around a beautiful Day of the Dead table. This year, we've put together a stunning tablescape that uses primarily black and white, with pops of color from the delicious food and dried flowers. Our centerpiece is a skeleton charcuterie board, and we've included skull photo holders so that everyone can remember their deceased loved ones. Keep reading for all the details!

Set The Tablecloth

To stay budget-friendly, we pulled this all from our Halloween decor. We started with a black lace tablecloth and dark floral plate chargers as our base. This sets the tone for the rest of the scenery and ensures that everything else pops. Plus, it's just stunning!

Create Your Centerpiece

As the focal point of your table, you'll want to create a Dia de Los Muertos themed centerpiece. For our centerpiece, we created a skeleton charcuterie board. This is not only incredibly festive, but it's also functional! You can fill the skeleton with all your favorite sweet bread, tamales, candies, and other favorite foods. We also added vibrant colors with Bindle & Brass Mini Bouquets, by creating a floral Sacred Heart and hand-tied bouquet.

Add Some Photos

These are a great way to remember your deceased loved ones and to keep them close to you during the holiday. No Day of the Dead table would be complete without photo holders! For a touch of Dia de Los Muertos flair, try using our Greenery artificial succulent skulls as the perfect photo perch!

Place Candles & Butterflies

Add some final touches to your tablescape by scattering candles and butterflies throughout the structure. Black candles will help tie everything together nicely, while butterflies add some much-needed pops of color. They are also believed to hold the spirits of the dearly departed. And there you have it - a perfect Dia de Los Muertos tablescape that is sure to impress your guests!

Whether you're hosting a small gathering of close friends or throwing a big party, we hope this provided you with some inspiration for creating your own beautiful tablescape. This is just one way that you can celebrate this wonderful holiday. However you choose to celebrate, make sure to remember your deceased loved ones in a unique way. Thanks for reading!
