Make a Delightful Lighted Cloud Topiary out of Thrifted Finds for Spring Season

Now that the weather is warming up, it's the perfect time to start thinking about some fun spring projects! Are you looking for a whimsical gift to cheer up someone or a way to deck out your spring table? Repurposing is the name of the game when it comes to craftiness. Why spend money on new materials when you can use what you already have lying around or what you can find at your local thrift store? This project is easy enough for beginners, and it's budget-friendly too. We took three finds and turned them into the most delightful creations.

Supplies

2 Bindle & Brass Dried Wildflower Bouquets

Poly-fil or stuffing from an unused pillow

Battery Twinkle Lights

Straight stick

Twist ties or floral wire

Thrifted teapot

Container that fits in teapot

Rubberband

Dry floral foam

Candy melts in bright colors

Icing

cake pop sticks

Cut the floral foam to create a small cylinder shape and place the extra into the container that will go inside the teapot. Take your twinkle lights and wrap the line around the cylinder foam in all directions leaving the unlighted strand out. Insert the stick into the base of the cylinder and the other end into the container. Secure the extra strand with ties.

Now cover the lighted cylinder with Poly-fil, creating a cloud like structure. We made some spaces sparser than others to see the twinkle lights through.

Separate the elements from the dried wildflower bouquets, and create groupings of colors around the cloud.

Continue building your small arrangements until your desired fullness is acquired.

Place the jar within the teapot, build the base to cover the container, and ground the arrangement. Now Place it on your table for a delightful spring accent. We used the teapot top to cover the box to make turning on your cloud easy.

If you want to upgrade your arrangement to give a sweet gift or dessert for your tea party, make some mini macaroons to adorn your cloud. Using the chocolate melts, place the icing on one side and press a cake pop stick to the center, closing off with another piece of chocolate. Place in the freezer for a couple of hours to set and then insert into the lighted cloud.

Two variations from vases we found at the thrift store:

Spiral the colors around the topiary using three shades of broom bloom or baby's breath, a cylinder floral foam, and a teacup.

We found this fun swan container and thought it would be the perfect match for our palm fans and pampas grass, mimicking the movement of the feathers.

There are so many fun finds while thrifting. By following the movement of the vessel and keeping within the size of the frame, you are sure to turn someone else's trash into your treasure.
