How to Craft a Unique Bearded Dragon For Your Little Ones
The summer heat probably has your kids feeling like lizards basking in the sun. Here’s a craft to create in the shade while pretending to be a bearded dragon and learning some fun facts about these unique creatures.
Beards of spiny scales around the neck are where they received part of their name. The other half comes from how they make their bodies flatter to appear large like a dragon.
They wave to communicate with each other, can run on two legs, and can even be found sleeping in a standing position.
Their beard turns black when alarmed, but that’s not the only time they have been known to change colors. They will turn dark to absorb heat, and sometimes after they shed, colors ranging from orange, green, yellow, or brown.
These little lizards can make low maintenance, fun to watch pets, but if you’d rather skip the feeding routine. Upcycling toilet paper rolls and using a little imagination can give your kids all the excitement without the upkeep.

Peeps have been an Easter icon since around the 40’s when it used to take around 27 hours to make one tray, and special ordering was the only way to obtain them. With the rise of machinery in the 50’s, creation time was reduced to only six minutes a tray and could be distributed across America, making it a holiday symbol. Now that we can all enjoy these darlings, we wanted to upgrade one of our faux tulips to see their happy faces on display this Easter.
