Feathered Spring Table Palette

Spring is a time of renewal. Bulbs emerge from the ground, blossoms appear on the Forsythia, and birds busy themselves preparing for the nesting season. People start to break hibernation, they glow when the sun shines upon their face as they witness, in awe, all the life that nature brings. This year will be a momentous appearance after a winter spent cozied with the family. Where enjoyment of cooking in a different kitchen (BBQ), a new place to have an evening talk (porch), and a wellness space integrated with earth (garden), expands the living area for everyone to enjoy.

We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate this spring than by choosing color palettes of our table scapes off our fine feathered friends. Accompany us as we migrate three table sets to inspire a flourishing spring gathering.

The Hummingbird

When creating this earthy style, think grain and texture working together to establish that handmade aesthetic. Our table includes artisanal Deco Flowers, craft wrapped faux herbs and spring bunnies made of napkins garnished with a sprig of dried lavender. This color palette tends toward muted and softer shades, comparable to the downy of a baby hummingbird. Try mixing creams, rusts, and greens with soft pinks and purples, hues rooted in nature.

The swallow

This bird is often found feasting over lakes and rivers, thus constructing the table with seaside’s in mind. It might include things that emphasize beach getaways; woven texture, sand pigments, and potpourri that incorporates the scent of the sea. Inky blues and aqua dominate this look creating a tranquil, calm, and contemporary feel, while the hint of lavender and mauve embodies majestic sunsets, merging this swallow within its surroundings.

the finch

Equal to the finch, this table is playful, perfect for children at the table or in your heart. To style this bold statement table, leave the table runner in the linen closet and mingle plants with plates. Create lots of height for perching candles, moss, and pampas grass, reminiscent of tail feathers. Adventurous tones of blues, greens, yellows, pinks, and purples sing out to awaiting guests of this table.

Whatever your décor style, just celebrate! Rejoice in everything that Spring brings with it. Harriet Ann Jacobs wrote, “The beautiful spring came, and when nature resumes her loveliness, the human soul is apt to revive also.” Find the beauty and inspiration that nature gifts us, and bring it into your everyday style.
